What is Fast Money Music?

Could be fast? Could be money. Could even be music. Maybe it’s none of the above and everything at the same time. Could be a Suicide song. Or a song from under the floorboards. A naive melody in the style of Melody Nelson. Or maybe, it’s the absence of all those things.

It’s the solo project of Nick Hinman, an American-born and East London-based musician and producer, molding his love of post-punk, no wave, protopunk and pop music (the nostalgic and familiar) into something unique and original.  

Lauded by Jack Saunders (BBC Radio 1), Steve Lamacq (BBC 6Music), Matt Wilkinson (Apple Music) and John Kennedy (Radio X) and earning coverage from Clash, DIY HERO, Spotify Fresh Finds and Apple Music New In Alternative amongst others, FMM has built a loyal following since 2022, with sold-out headline performances across East London venues, a showcase at Supersonic Paris, and a coveted slot at The Great Escape 2025.

With a self-titled debut LP in the works, fans can expect new singles from FMM later this year, with an album releasing in 2026.
